Ads are like cultural fossils. In the 50’s and 60’s the advertising world went through a “Creative Revolution”. There was a transition from line drawings and hokey tag lines to more class and more thoughtful ways of engaging with consumers. These six ads were caught right in the middle of that transition. They embraced photography and Helvetica (or close abouts) on one hand but still felt the need to write an essay about their product underneath. Check out the rest of the set at Well Medicated.
